Robin's Egg Blue

Interesting enough, my sister who lived in Bahamas at that time, mentioned about a humming bird that visited their house and about Life of Birds DVDs. She sent me a pack of these DVDs and I spent hours just wathcing them. I used to write my dissertation during the day and watch those DVDs in the evenings. Life of birds, narrated by David Attenborough (what a great career he chose!), shows all aspects of a bird life starting off with evolution of birds, their flight, preying, mating, baby care etc. I cannot really express how much I enjoyed watching life of birds. I could relate what I saw in the video with what I see all around.

You find what your mind looks for. That is so true. From the time I started looking for birds, I started seeing so many of them that I haven't seen before. Found this website called whatbird.com. Wherever I went I was looking for a new bird, I started training my mind to remeber the shape and colour of the bird, if possible their song and go back check whatbird.com with the color and match it with the song and lo...I got to know a new bird!

Thus came American Robins into my life. They were always there on my lawns, but never could enter my perception before. These Robins are a kind of thrushes. Very commonly found on lawns. Robins are brown but their eggs are blue. Interesting fact is that there is a crayon named Robin's Egg Blue.
